The Communications Committee is responsible for the publication of Horizons 27, the District 27 website, a Facebook Page, promotional brochures and e-newsletters (via email)

2011 Communications Committee
With the concurrent retirements of outgoing Horizons 27 Editor-in-Chief Lyndi McDonald and the former webmaster Bob Summers, the Communications Committee has two new faces for 2011.

Carol Barazzuol is the new Communications Committee Chair and Stuart Fraser is the new Webmaster. Until a permanent Editor-in-Chief is found, Carol and Stuart are also interim Co-Editors of Horizons 27. They join Samir Khordoc (Translation), Lise Rhéault (Translation) and Lyndi McDonald.

Editorial Policies
The editorial committee reserves the right to modify any submissions to fit the space available and to determine the appropriateness of any submission for a particular issue.

The views expressed by the authors do not necessarily reflect those of RTO/ERO. Articles destined for Horizons 27 are to be no longer than 500 words. Longer articles or items that are reduced in size may be posted on the website by the editor.

Interim Horizons 27

WANTED

The Communication Committee is looking for volunteer members to assist with various tasks required to put together the Horizons 27 magazine. These include but are not limited to the following:

• contacting board members for information on upcoming events, newsworthy activities and provincial reports;
• interviewing a member regarding a special event (receipt of an award or special birthday / anniversary);
• asking a board member or other members to take photos of an event or to write an article or a report on an issue or event;
• communicating with the Membership Committee on the names of new and deceased members;
• assessing and investigating alternatives for the cost of production;
• assisting with editing of articles, including insuring that names and contact information are current and accurate;
• attending board meetings to gather information and to make reports;

It is hoped that at least one individual will be willing to take on increased responsibilities, working up to the role of Editor-in-Chief.
